Eddy Puyol recalls when he wrote “Ice” it was inspired by a conversation he had with his brother who was completing a college football career and preparing to chase his NFL dreams with the Baltimore Ravens.
He remembers saying Bobby had “ice in his veins” as a way of building up his little brother’s confidence before each kick. More often than not, that strategy yielded results as either extra-points or field goals.
The truth behind that message still stands – that in the midst of opps or issues you can’t cower down. You have to stand your ground in the face of adversity and pressure and have a cool demeanor in order to succeed.
Similar to the weather conditions needed to create ice, one can expect things to move a little more slowly and that’s exactly how this song and video feel.
